Not every great summer night has to cost money. The Timothy Baker Amphitheater in Deer Run Park hosts free outdoor concerts on the first Saturday of every month from June through October — five shows in total, all at no charge.

Each show runs from 6 to 8 PM with a food truck on-site. Bring a blanket, bring the kids, bring the dog — these shows are as relaxed and welcoming as Holmes County itself. The amphitheater is a beautiful outdoor venue and on a summer evening in Millersburg, there are few better places to be.

The Holmes County Winery Music Trail — Live Music Every Weekend

Holmes County has five wineries with live music running throughout the summer — and they are all within 35 minutes of downtown Millersburg. Together they form one of Ohio’s most scenic and underrated winery music trails.

Sunny Slope Winery in Big Prairie offers free live music every Friday and Saturday evening from 6 to 9 PM — an institution in Holmes County since 1927. Bring a blanket, grab a wine slushie, and watch the sun go down over the vineyard.

Baltic Mill Winery in Baltic is worth a special mention. Built in 1908 as the largest flour mill in Ohio, the original three-story mill machinery and steam engine are still standing — and now you can sit next to them with a glass of wine while a live band plays overhead. Music runs every Saturday from 2 to 5 PM. It is genuinely unlike anywhere else in Ohio.

The trail also includes French Ridge Vineyards, Doughty Glen Winery, and Ugly Bunny Winery — each with their own atmosphere, lineup, and charm. A full weekend hopping between them makes for one of the best Ohio experiences you haven’t had yet.

Downtown Millersburg — Live Music, DORA Drinks, and Four Great Venues

Jackson Street in downtown Millersburg is home to four live music venues within easy walking distance of each other — making it one of the most concentrated music corridors in rural Ohio.

Millersburg Brewing Company faces the Holmes County Courthouse with 20 craft beers brewed on-site and live music on weekend evenings. The Cider Press, Grover’s Restaurant & Tavern, and Bag’s Sports Pub round out the lineup with their own music nights and distinct personalities.

Millersburg also has a DORA — Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area — which means you can purchase a drink at any participating downtown establishment and stroll freely through the shops and galleries on Jackson Street with it in hand. It is one of those small-town details that makes an afternoon here feel genuinely unhurried and special.

Festivals and Downtown Events — Something Every Month All Summer
