Millersburg Brewing Company — Downtown Millersburg

Right in historic downtown and walkable from Suite on Jackson, Millersburg Brewing Company is where the group splits zero ways: craft beer brewed on-site for the friend who likes her hops, plus wine and other drinks for everyone else. Great food, a lively local crowd, live music and karaoke on weekends, and no designated driver required — the walk home together through a lamplit small town is part of the evening.

Sunny Slope Winery — Big Prairie

Sunny Slope Winery is a Holmes County fixture — part general store, part small-batch winery, all charm. Every wine is handcrafted on-site, but the legend here is the wine slushies: order a round, grab a picnic table, and settle in. Live music fills Friday and Saturday evenings and the deli makes sandwiches to order — the kind of relaxed, unpretentious afternoon stop that turns into the story of the trip.

French Ridge Vineyards — Killbuck

French Ridge Vineyards was the first winery owned and operated within Holmes County — 23 acres, more than twenty wine varieties, and views that stop the conversation mid-sentence (briefly). Friday nights bring wood-fired pizza and live music; Saturday evenings feature a full dinner (reservation required) followed by music. Golden hour on the ridge with a bottle on the table and your favorite people around it is the photo — and the feeling — you came for.

The Cider Press — Downtown Millersburg

A locally and regionally sourced farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of downtown Millersburg. Every dish celebrates the season, served warm and unhurried, and it’s walkable from Suite on Jackson — so the dinner conversation just continues all the way home. Make it the dress-up dinner of the weekend, and book the Saturday-night table ahead.

Rig & Co. Studio & Spa — Millersburg

Rig & Co. Studio & Spa is Millersburg’s go-to for a proper pampering session — relaxation treatments, custom facials, and a detoxifying foot soak-scrub-massage combo practically designed for the day after a long drive. The team is known for taking time to listen to exactly what you want, and booking a block of back-to-back appointments means the group rotates through while the rest lounge. Nail’d It Beauty & Boutique — West Jackson Street

Fresh nails and a little shopping in one stop, right on West Jackson Street — practically neighbors with the suite. Nail’d It pairs nail services with a small boutique of clothing and gifts, so while one friend picks her polish, the rest are picking out something cute. Matching manicures optional but encouraged. Book ahead for a group, and leave a little browsing time for the boutique side.

Shopping in Berlin

Berlin is the shopping heart of Amish Country, about fifteen minutes from the suite. A few walkable blocks pack in boutiques, antique shops, home décor, handmade Amish furniture and quilts, and bakeries. Wander at group pace — splitting up and reuniting with finds is half the fun — and leave trunk space for what follows you home. Saturdays are lively, so go earlier for easier parking and first pick.

Downtown Millersburg Boutiques & Antiques

Don’t sleep on your own block: historic downtown Millersburg has its own collection of boutiques and antique stores, all a short stroll from Suite on Jackson. It’s the perfect first-evening wander or Sunday-morning treasure hunt — vintage finds, local gifts, and the particular joy of discovering something wonderful thirty steps from where you’re staying. (Antique stores are where the best girls’ trip inside jokes are born. Buy the weird thing.)

Walk the Holmes County Trail — Hipp Station

Just one block from the suite, Hipp Station opens onto the Holmes County Trail — a scenic, tree-lined path through Millersburg and the countryside beyond. A golden-hour walk together, phones in pockets, is when the real conversations happen: the catching-up that group texts never quite manage. Head out around sunset and wander as long as the light lasts.

Day One · Friday — Arrive & Uncork

Day Two · Saturday — Pamper, Shop & Sip

Morning — Ginger House Coffee, Berlin. Start slow in Berlin at Ginger House — signature drinks, a light-lunch menu, and a cozy spot to caffeinate right before the shopping begins. No rush whatsoever.

Mid-morning — Nails or spa. Fresh sets at Nail’d It just down the street, or massages and facials at Rig & Co. Either way, book ahead — and build in browsing time; both come with shopping attached.

Afternoon — Shopping in Berlin. Give Berlin’s boutiques, antiques, and bakeries a couple of unhurried hours. Split up, regroup, compare finds, repeat. Grab a light lunch between shops.

Late afternoon — Wine slushies at Sunny Slope. Point the car toward Sunny Slope Winery for the famous wine slushies and a picnic table in the sun. If it’s a live-music night, stay for a set.

Dinner — The Cider Press or Millersburg Brewing. Back to Millersburg for the dress-up dinner at The Cider Press, or keep it lively at Millersburg Brewing. Both are walkable, so the night ends with a stroll home together.

Evening — Deck night. Twinkling lights, one more bottle, and the kind of evening air that keeps conversations going. This is what the deck was built for.

Day Three · Sunday — One Last Morning

Morning — Sleep in. Make coffee. Don’t rush. This morning belongs to robes, the window seat, a blanket, and a view of Millersburg waking up below you. Brew locally roasted Salt Creek Coffee from the coffee bar and let it be slow.

Holmes County Through the Seasons

Every season in Amish Country has its own personality — and Suite on Jackson is decorated to match each one.

Spring. Everything blooms at once, the hillsides turn green, and the whole county feels like it’s exhaling after winter. Less crowded than summer, with mild weather — a lovely time to gather the group.

Summer. Farmers markets overflow, wineries host events nearly every weekend, and the days stretch long and golden. The deck was made for summer evenings, with an unobstructed view of the Thunder Over Holmes County fireworks.

Fall. The most breathtaking season in Holmes County — rolling hills turn amber, crimson, and gold, and the suite is fully decorated for fall. Book early; this is our most popular season, and the group photo practically takes itself.

Winter, Christmas & Galentine’s. The suite is decorated distinctly for winter, Christmas, and Valentine’s season. A February Galentine’s weekend here — soaking tub, fireplace, robes, and a quiet snow-dusted town — is one of the most intimate girls’ trips of the year.
